US www.usgbc.org – U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
The US Green Building Council, established in 1993, developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems. The USGBC is a mission-driven, 501(c) 3 organization that provides resources and educational information regarding green building and the LEED certification programs.

www.gbci.org – The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI)
Established in 2008, the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) is an independent, third-party organization committed to ensuring precision in the design, development, and implementation of the processes used to increase and measure green building performance (certification) and green building practice (credentialing). The GBCI, as a stand-alone, non-profit organization, administers the LEED certification programs, as well as LEED Accredited Professional
(LEED AP) and Green Associate (LEED GA) credentialing programs.
