Baobab Home is a small, non profit, NGO organization based in Bagamoyo, Tanzania, East Africa. They provide a family setting orphanage for infants and children, many of whom have lost parents to HIV/AIDS. Their mission is to provide interim care, in the hope of reunited children with willing and able family members or to locate foster or adoptive care. They accept sick and healthy children, regardless of HIV status and ensure all children receive a healthy, stimulating environment with proper food, clothing, medical care and love. All terminal children are cared for with dignity. Currently, they run a breakfast program for orphans and other vulnerable children and provide outreach care for families in need. They fully sponsor 9 street boys in secondary school, providing uniforms, school fees and other support. They provide HIV/AIDS education to the community and work closely with expectant mothers, as part of the ART program, to help prevent mother–to-child HIV transmission.

In March 2008, 20 high school students from San Diego, California visited the orphanage. This group not only assisted in the construction of a modest, mud and stone home for 3 orphaned brothers, but, through a concerted effort, raised over $3500 for the orphanage. Please contact us to see how you or your company can become part of this worthy cause. All donations are tax deductible.
